Valentines Day creations

I have been busy making lots of valentine cards and treat holders for my work. I am hoping to get a small business started offering cards and treat holders and small gifts for the special holidays.
My son, who is a Senior at Northern Illinois University created a website for me for my Christmas present. He is my biggest fan! His class had to do a project so his small group worked together to create a website where I could sell my cards, etc. Check it out at http://www.cardsespeciallyforyou.com/. Of course I follow the angel policy for all stamp companies I use. So far only one person has bought a card and that is my girlfriend from work who is such a sweetheart and really works to help people succeed in their own business. But, I am hanging in there and hopefully word will get out.

Here are some of my creations:

It's been too long

Hello Everyone
Sorry it has been so long since I posted, but all of a sudden I had invites to make, scrapbook pages to design for our local store and my sons save the date cards. I also had another friend ask me to make cards for her candle shop so her customers could do one stop shopping.
I don't know how many blogs you all look at but I get tons a day in my email. There are so many talented stampers out there and I wish I could meet some of them. I have communicated with a couple through email, but they are so busy designing for all these stamp companies they don't have time to chit chat.

I am no longer going to be working full-time after January 25, 2008 and I hope to start sending in some cards and other items to some of the stamping magazines and stamping companies to see if I can get published or better yet asked to be on a design team. I am going to work part-time for a local scrapbook store doing some design work, helping with the store, setting up displays and hopefully going to shows. The company is Creek Bank Creations and they have a website. They have really cool stuff and great classes. Julie, the owner, creates alot of things herself. She recently created some chipboard theme groups that are really details not just plain like some, some clear acrylic embellishments that can be painted, stamped, you can use alcohol inks to color them and they can be held on with brads or even glue dots if you dont' have to worry about it showing, like if they were painted. Anyway, check them out.
I am going show you a few of the cards I have been working on, hope you like them.

Getting the hang of it

Well I added some pictures of some of my cards!! I am slow at learning the in's and out's of blogging but I'm getting it.

I love all the new flourish design stamps, I have several and I just can't get enough. I recently got the large ones made by Fancy Pants Designs. I got Pollen Dust and I cannot wait to use it. I bought it because I have flourish designs in my basement and I want to make a large canvas picture to go above our couch. We have turquoise and dark brown as our accent colors and I can just see these large stamps in the corners. I will post it if I ever get it done. You see I always have these grand ideas and buy the stuff to do it with but it usually takes a while for me to actual do it.

Well, that is all I have for today. Figuring out how to download those pics wore me out! haha

My Two Favorite Things Sunshine and Sunflowers. Two of my favorite things. The sunshine is so warm on my skin, I love to come home at lunch and sit on my deck and soak it all in. Sunflowers are so big, bright and majestic I can stare at them for hours.Welcome to my new stamping blog. I have been a rubber stamper for almost 10 years. I was a Stampin Up demonstrator for two years, but my town was saturated with demonstrators which made it hard to keep up with the requirements to stay a demonstrator. None the less, I am still purchasing their stamps and other companies stamps (it's became an obession) and my room is bursting at the seams. Embellishments....what can I say...I love them. I can't get enough of them. Sometimes I have to force myself to stay home...away from any type of store that carries them...and use what I have. It is really really hard.A few little facts about me and my family, I am 49 years old and am married to a wonderful man. This is a second marriage for both of us. He has a 25 year old son, who just graduated "Order of the Coif" from the University of Illinois law school. He is brilliant. I have a 26 year old son who is currently attending college after losing his job last spring, he received straight A's. I then have a middle son who is 23 years old and a senior at Northern Illinois University majoring in business and IT. He is also engaged to a beautiful young lady and they are getting married next July. I am making the invitations, I think I better get started. And then, there is Alex, my little 13 soon to be 14 year old. He was my little surprise :) and what a great kid. Not that all of our kids aren't great, but there is something about have a child late in life and after you have had some experience raising other kids. You learn to appreciate the time you spend with them, you enjoy all the little annoyances because you know how fast they grow up. I can tell you there are two things in my current future that I am not going to handle very well, one is giving my son away at his marriage and two is taking my youngest to college. My kids are my life. I currently work for county government, but not for long, I plan to retire in January. No I am not old enough and no I don't have enough years in, but I have got to do something creative. So I have been apply for jobs with all the rubber stamping companies in hope that I can join a design team, or demonstrate their products at shows, or whatever I can do involving rubber stamping, papercrafting and products that go with them. My wonderful husband is supporting me all the way. If any one out there knows of a design team I could possible join or a opening for a job, please let me know ;)Well, I do not have any cards scanned into my computer to share tonight, but I will work on them this weekend and see what I can send.Hope to hear from you!May the sunshine warm you and the sunflowers bring you joy.Tammi
